Join a thriving property business renowned for its innovative spirit and unwavering commitment to excellence. We’re searching for a experienced Client Accountant to become a vital cog in our ever-evolving machine, fuelling growth and ensuring seamless financial stewardship.

This role requires solid all-round client accounting knowledge in addition to extensive service charge accounting experience. You will be required to have a comprehensive understanding of the property life cycle from mobilisation through to off boarding, including interpretation of completion statements, accounting for property sales and transfers to new agents, financial reporting, risk management and compliance.

Duties of the role:

  • Work hand-in-hand with colleagues to monitor budget-to-actual performance, proactively managing any service charge shortfalls and raising the curtain on potential issues.
  • Maintain and update year-end and budget information on the database, a vital score for informed decisions.
  • Manage client voids flawlessly, ensuring cash flow maintains its steady tempo.
  • Quarterly Collaborations: Lead quarterly reviews of the service charge account with surveyors and facilities managers, harmonizing their expertise.
  • Compose the REM elements of the Service Charge Year End workflow, collaborating with surveyors and appointed accountants to reconcile cash with the grace of a seasoned conductor.
  • Craft timely and accurate monthly/quarterly client reports, including client and VAT reports, bank reconciliations, arrears reports, and bespoke presentations, all reviewed by your supportive conductor before the grand reveal.
  • Ensure rents and insurance reach clients like clockwork, paying close attention to Duty of Care arrangements and navigating the Non-Resident Landlord Scheme with ease.
  • Settle VAT on time, keeping finances in perfect pitch.
  • Orchestrate the timely recovery of utility costs and master the full reconciliations of the utility recharge account.
  • Craft and reconcile bank statements monthly, ensuring every note is in its rightful place.
  • Coordinate the smooth transitions of new and departing clients, working with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless performance.
