About the Business

An opportunity to be a Finance Business Partner for an excellent service business in Birmingham. It’s a unique commercial role for a business that has a £200 million turnover and an energetic forward-thinking finance team. The team are passionate about what they do and they are great to learn from.

Main Duties:

As a Finance Business Partner, your main duties include:

• Be a key business partner to a range of operational staff across a number of sites
• Use your financial acumen to analyse commercial opportunities across the business
• Ensuring the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts, along with quarterly and rolling forecasts
• Monthly monitoring of income and revenue costs against budget and forecasts
• Focussing on increasing profitability and continuous improvement by analysing and challenging current practices and processes
• Assisting the capital team with investment projects for capital expenditure
• Maintaining and updating key financial models
• Assisting in the production of statutory accounts and ensuring they’re signed off by auditors
• Production of information for auditors, banks, shareholders and other external bodies
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

Location / Office / Culture

This role is hybrid, with three days in the Birmingham office and two from home. The team are friendly, and have a great culture.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• At least two years’ experience in a management accounting role
• Competence in spreadsheet and presentation software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• An ability to develop good working relationships
• Good attention to detail
