About the Business
An exciting opportunity to join a well-established and expanding manufacturing organisation with multiple UK sites, with one based near Worcester Six Business Park. Highly profitable and acquisitive, this manufacturing business require interim support, with a possibility of a contract extension. This interim Financial Controller role is offered on a six-month basis, with the potential to extend further.
Main Duties:
As a Financial Controller, your main duties include:
- Become a key support to the CFO across
- Commercial finance
- Manufacturing & Inventory
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Light support to month end
- Support the year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounts.
- Review balance sheets and consolidate multi-site results, including intercompany eliminations.
- Lead annual standard cost updates across manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to review material costs, production processes, and overhead recovery rates.
- Analyse standard vs. actual cost variances and recommend improvements.
- Review stock valuations and inventory reconciliations.
- Improve reporting tools and dashboards (e.g. Power BI, Excel automation).
- Streamline month-end processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Support capital project tracking and post-investment reviews.
- Assist in developing group reporting packs, KPIs, and forecasting updates.
- Partner with finance and operations teams to align reporting and costing assumptions.
- Provide financial insight on key metrics and communicate findings to non-financial stakeholders.
Location / Office / Culture

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- QBEs with manufacturing experience are welcome!
- Knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting is useful
- Knowledge is Power Bi Is useful, although not required.
- Experienced in managing year-end processes and liaising with auditors.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Exposure to consolidation and group reporting is useful.
