Management Accountant

We’re recruiting a reliable and detail-oriented Management Accountant in Birmingham. Main Duties:

As a Management Accountant,  your main duties include:

• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Oversee the balance sheet and profit & loss for smaller entities.
• Deliver financial insights and analysis on monthly performance.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified at month-end, and ensure outstanding issues are followed up.
• Submit VAT returns and other required filings to HMRC.
• Contribute to maintaining compliance with Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) requirements.
• Serve as the main finance point of contact for specific business units.
• Provide financial support to operational teams including Production, Engineering, Warehousing, and Technology.
• Work closely with budget holders to review and monitor financial performance on a regular basis.
• Help drive progress on finance-related projects that are delayed or need additional resources.
• Take responsibility for financial forecasting for smaller subsidiaries.
• Contribute to reviewing, streamlining, and documenting finance processes across the UK business.
• Support both internal and external audit activities as needed.
• Provide assistance in treasury tasks and help cover purchase ledger duties when required.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Part of fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Experience working in multi-entity environments
• Strong experience in management and financial reporting
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and in a business partnering role
