We take a look at some of the best AIM-listed companies in the West Midlands.

Kidderminster

Victoria Carpets was originally established in 1895 in Scotland, but relocated to Kidderminster in 1900, where their head office remains to this day. They are one of the largest manufacturers of carpets in the UK, and the second largest in Australia. They were awarded a Royal Warrant in 2013, and was AIM-listed in that same year.

Birmingham

The Tandem Group is a Birmingham-based AIM-listed company which started out developing high-quality bicycles. The group also develops wheeled toys through MV Sports (both licensed and own brands), and mobility equipment through Pro Rider Mobility.

Redditch

Established in Small Heath in 1936, this manufacturer of professional lighting moved around Birmingham until finally establishing its head office in Redditch in 1989. AIM-listed in 2005, they now own shares in a number of companies which develop different kinds of lighting. Their most recent acquisition was a 50% stake in the Netherlands-based Ratio Electric.

Wolverhampton

Initially founded in London in 1857, this company develops air conditioning, heaters, and pumping systems. While they have depots all across the country, their head office is situated in Wolverhampton.

Walsall

This firm was established in 1890, and owns the Walsall-based iron foundry, Chamberlin & Hill Castings Ltd, which predominantly caters to the automotive industry. They also own the Birmingham-based lighting company Petrel Ltd, who serve as their engineering division.

Birmingham

One of the first commercial law firms to be AIM-listed, Stephen Gateley & Sons was founded in Birmingham in 1808, and expanded nationally during the 1970s. They are comprised of eleven different groups which specialise in different areas of legal advice.

Tividale

Established in 2005, Rotala has become the second largest bus operator in the West Midlands. They operate scheduled services through Diamond Bus Ltd, and chartered services through Hallmark Connections.

Solihull

This estate agent initially focussed on local properties in the Solihull area before expanding on a national scale by 2015, becoming AIM-listed that same year. They have over 600 agents working across the UK.

Coleshill

AIM-listed in 2005, this technology company specialises in fleet management software for commercial vehicles, including dashboard cameras. They have provided this technology to vehicles used by the AA, Autoglass, and Iceland Foods.
