Great Alne
Established in 2005, this brewery operates on a farm in Warwickshire. They aim to produce beers using environmentally friendly brewing methods. The company partners with a number of music events, such as Funk & Soul, along with the Wasps RFC.
Dudley
Since 1993, this company has been making a range of high-quality sofas which are distributed to nearly 400 retailers across the country. They seek to develop a design from the initial sketches within three weeks.
Sutton Coldfield
Initially founded on an airfield in 1959, this company developed one of the world’s first plastic hose connectors. Now headquartered in Birmingham, they are one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of gardening supplies. 75% of their products are mind in the country, and they have also expanded their customer base to include Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
Witton
Formerly known as the Titanium Metals Corporation of America, this metalworking company expanded to the UK following the acquisition of IMI Titanium in 1996. IMI’s Birmingham premises now serves as TIMET’s national headquarters. The company helped design the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
Birmingham
Established in Switzerland in 1834, Sulzer is a global fluid engineering concern. They are involved in the manufacture of pumps, along with generators and motors. Their Birmingham service centre is located in Marston Green.
Redditch
Established in 1976, this manufacturer of wet wipes has sites in Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, in addition to Redditch. Their products are used in household cleaning, baby care, cosmetics, and personal care.
Birmingham
Although their smelting division was sold to TIMET in 1996, Imperial Metal Industries remains as one of Birmingham’s prominent engineering firms. They specialise in designing water-based heating and cooling systems.
Redditch, Stourport, Rugby
Established in 1856, this company started out making crucibles for melting metals. They later expanded into developing carbon components for searchlights, cars, trains and filmmaking equipment. They have a manufacturing plant in Redditch, along with sales offices in Stourport and Rugby.
Birmingham
Established as a brand of Cleone Foods in 1989, Island Delight produced Jamaican patties for small retailers in Birmingham and London. Now based in the Jewellery Quarter, they sell their pastries in over 100 supermarkets across the country. Their founder, Wade Lyn, was awarded a CBE in 2013.
Coventry
Founded in 1908, the London Taxi Company are responsible for the iconic “Black Cab” design of taxis. In 2017, company underwent a re-branding built on sustainability, being renamed the London Electric Vehicle Company, and launching the first electric taxi the following. This was followed by a move into commercial vehicles with the launch of an electric van in 2020.
Birmingham
For over 15 years, this company has been manufacturing custom-built motorcycles as a cost-effective alternative to high end and vintage models. Their headquarters is located in King’s Norton, in homage to Birmingham’s past as the historical heart of motorcycle manufacturing.
Telford
Established in 1860, this Shropshire-based firm started out as iron merchants before expanding into the production of galvanised iron in 1909. Their products see extensive use in construction, agriculture, and infrastructure. They have established the Iron Duke Academy training school to help their workforce develop new skills.
