Nuneaton

Holland & Barrett are Europe’s leading health and wellness retailers with an international presence and £700m+ revenue in 2018. They have their own charity, Healthy Hope, and are well-known for selling vitamins, supplements, sports nutrition, and natural hair and beauty products.

Redditch

Halfords are probably the biggest company in Redditch, with a revenue of £1.29bn in 2021. The company consists of both Halfords stores and Halfords autocentres, meaning they offer products and services. Halfords have done well post-Covid, as the lockdowns saw a growth in cyclists and UK travel.

Coleshill

The Works are a discount retailer specialising in arts, crafts, and books. They have a purpose-built office in Coleshill to aid their online expansion.

Coventry

Although the Sainsbury’s head office is in London, they have a presence in the West Midlands with a large office in Coventry. John James Sainsbury founded Sainsbury’s in 1869. In March 2021, they had 1,411 grocery stores, 813 of which were convenience stores and the rest supermarkets.

Willenhall

Poundland are owned by Steinhoff International and are the leading fixed price retailer. Previously they used to only stock items at £1,but have recently had a store rebrand which saw the introduction of clothes and items at all prices.

A.F. Blakemore are probably one of the largest local retailers you have never heard of. They own SPAR stores and Blackmore food services. There are 267 SPAR stores located across England and Wales, meaning Blakemore Retail is the largest independent convenience store operator in the UK. They are also large investors in their local community.

Star City

Genting are a leading casino company with over 40 casinos in the UK with multiple in Birmingham alone. They have an impressive office in Star City.

Birmingham

You may not have heard of Signet, but you probably will have heard of their brands; H Samuels and Ernst Jones. Signet are the world’s largest retailer of diamond jewellery and operate approximately 2,800 stores worldwide. They are massive retailers in America as they own Kay Jewellers and Zales.

Coventry

McKessons own Lloyds Pharmacy and AAH Pharmaceuticals. Their 2021/22 first-quarter revenues were $9.2 billion. They have a headquarters in Coventry.

Atherstone

Aldi have over 6,250 stores across 11 countries and employ over 155,000 people. In the UK there is anywhere from 50 to 100 stores in each region with a total of 900 stores and a plan to have 1,200 stores in the UK by 2025. Their local office is based in Atherstone.
