Tips to make your application stand out.
What do we see when you apply via Reed?
Below is the application summary we receive from Reed each time you apply and because many candidates have been using Reed for many years, it is often out of date!
💷 Salary: Think this through!
This is often out of date. I find candidates who are still listed as £20,000 despite now earning £40k! This is a problem as it means you will not come up in the right proactive searches if you have made your CV visible. Also, if it is up to date, make sure it’s a figure that fairly represents your requirements.
🏢 Employer: Make sure this is accurate!
This information is not always pulled correctly from your CV, so make sure it does not read “Nandos” unless you still work there!
👷♂️ Job Title: Make it clear, concise and up to date!
Understand that in some cases, your CV will not go to an expert in your field first. So less “Project Phoenix Engagement Analyst” and more “SAP Project Accountant”. Often, this title is also out of date, we get FDs who apply and are still listed as a “Management Accountant”.
📲 Phone/Email: Do not just rely on this!
If you put your phone number here, please also put it on your CV. Otherwise, when your CV is uploaded to an internal system, they may not call!

Good Luck!
